Within the framework of the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), taking place from March 9-19 in New York, Taiwan is organizing the Taiwan Gender Equality Week to share its progress in gender equality and women's empowerment with the international community.
The main event will be the Taiwan Women's Cultural Night, held on March 13 at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, featuring a musical performance by Taiwanese vibraphonist Su Yu-Huan and drummer Wu Wen-Ting, who will perform jazz with Taiwanese cultural elements.
Another highlight will be the Taiwan Main Forum, scheduled for March 12, where experts and leaders will share experiences on public policies and women's empowerment initiatives.
This year, over 60 representatives from nearly 40 Taiwanese non-governmental organizations and local governments will participate in the CSW, organizing more than 30 parallel events to exchange experiences on gender equality with the international community.
As part of the outreach campaign, since early March, animations featuring orchids and the slogan "Her Rights, Our Pride" have been displayed in New York taxis, bus stops, and subway stations, highlighting Taiwan's commitment to gender equality.
